Last weekend we went camping off the southeast side of Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park at the Olive Ridge campground just north of the Allenspark community. Nice location - well treed and well kept campground. Even had a play structure for the kids that got a lot of use from all the kids that were there. Only issue we had was the rifle shots that went off in the middle of the night Saturday. We can only assume it was to thwart off an unexpected/unwanted visitor at one of the nearby residences.
Both Saturday and Sunday we went down to the Brainard Lake Recreation Area and took turns hiking and amusing the kids. Saturday was my turn to take the short but very scenic hike from Long Lake up to Lake Isabelle (10868' / 3312m); Sunday was Cindy's turn for the same hike. Mid to late July appears to be the prime time for the wildflowers in the area. Hopefully some of my photos reflect that.
